Spider Tech Tape: The tape that takes the pain away!
The owners and managers of Spider Tech Tape are very dear to my heart because of their tremendous support and belief in me over the past 4 years and leading into the Olympic Games. Their unwavering and consistent support monetarily has made it so I can focus all of my efforts on training, preparing and recovering and I am deeply thankful for what they have allowed me to do because of their backing. They were a constant pillar on my journey to the 2012 Olympic Games and will continue to be on my journey towards Rio in 2016.
Some Quotes from Bausch on Spider Tech: Through her travels over the past year or so since she began using SpiderTech, Bausch has discovered another benefit to using the product:
"SpiderTech is not only for training and racing at my best, but also for traveling on long flights across the globe. When I sit for long hours when traveling, my lower back and IT bands get very tight. The Lower Back and Hip Spiders keep me loose and the blood flow uninterrupted. I arrive at my destination feeling ready to ride and train the first day, instead of spending two or three days trying get rid of 'airplane legs.'"
With more than a decade of racing her bike at the professional level and in international competition, Bausch knows that injuries are part of sports. She has successfully utilized SpiderTech to overcome physical setbacks.
"SpiderTech's Hip Spider has been instrumental in my healing from sciatica. Nothing worked before Spider Tape to help keep the pain at bay while I healed. I always had pain and since I always train hard, I lived on Ibuprophen, which had me very concerned for the health of my liver. SpiderTech makes it so I can take care of my body inside and out."
Simply the nutrition industry leader in hydration and replenishment. With its combination of electrolytes, glycogen and amino acids and its mild flavor, there is no better product on the market today and I have put GQ-6 to the test, and it wins every time! Don't settle for anything less.

GU ENERGY: CHOMPS save me every time!
I am madly in love with Chomps because they are critical to keeping my blood sugar levels steady at the track for both training and racing. Track training burns glycogen only, and I only have so much stored on a given day, so Chomps allow me to keep training in a steady, relaxed and fueled state.
GU Energy Labs has a broad and deep portfolio of performance energy products for any endurance sport. From biking, running and triathlons to tennis, soccer and hockey, GU continues to work with pro and amateur athletes to formulate a suite of products that work together to improve your performance in endurance pursuits.
Oakley has been like family to me since 2001, when I first started racing as they supported my dreams and endeavors in cycling, way before I ever stood on top of any podiums. Oakley's cycling marketing manager Steve Blick, has been a good friend to me and always supported my cycling goals, but almost more importantly, my passion to give back to those struggling and suffering from eating disorders. Oakley is not only the best eyewear in the business and my go-to source for keeping my eyes safe and protected, but a partner in making the world a better place and a company I have grown to love and respect. I plan to partner with Oakley for a very, very long time.
COBB SADDLES: Don't bend over without one!
I have been searching for the perfect pursuit saddle for over 4 years. I have tried many. I swore I would start my own custom saddle company post retirement because I could not find the perfect saddle that would keep me out of pain and agony in all positions from sitting up on the rollers at 130 rpms to pursuit position on the track at 56K an hour. Now I have found the V-Flow Max Cobb saddle and my almost perfect solution. I am one happy camper...finally.
The V-Flow Max Saddle:
The Max saddle is the newest offering from Cobb Cycling; it continues the line of rider friendly saddles developed with the thought of comfort and speed. The newest seat, which comes in both Black and White, was developed by John Cobb for maximum rider comfort for both Triathlon riding and road riding. The lowered nose section combined with the deep cut pressure trough will relieve pressure in the prostate/perinea area for men and the soft tissue area for women. The narrow rear section comes from the extremely popular and successful VFlow series but is made with an all-new higher density foam. Ongoing tests have shown that a harder saddle foam is more comfortable over longer distances, Cobb developed a new foam that will save weight while adding comfort. The seat rail design of the new Max seat will also make it much easier for rider to achieve the proper seat setback for U.C.I. races. With one of the longest rail lengths of any of the "triathlon" type saddles, the max will easily be adjustable to find the ultimate in positions. The Max weighs 270Gr. and has a unique shape that is very rider friendly.
BONK BREAKER BARS: The best tasting and most nutritious energy bar in the world!
YUM! I love the almond butter and honey, peanut butter and banana and the NEW blueberry oat bar. Once you go Bonk, you'll never go back.
HED CYCLING: My aero bar of choice. The best in the biz. I use the CorsairE.
With the combination of wind tunnel tuned aerodynamics, light weight, stiffness, and unmatched range of adjustability, HED guarantees (and so do I!) that you will not fit better or go faster on another bar. The Corsair full aero bar is the lightest and stiffest offering to date (585g including brake levers). New for 2011 HED offers the Corsair base bar compatible with Shimano's Di2 shift/brake levers. This also means it is well adapted to track use or brake levers of your choice. The base bar is compliant with the UCI's 3:1 aspect ratio rule.
Dotsie utilizes Masimo pulse oximetry as part of her training and recovery regimen.
When training for a competition, she uses the technology like this:
The morning of training, she checks her SpO2 number to ensure it's in the high 90s – anything north of 97% and she's good to go, and go hard.
If it's 96% or below (at sea level), that number informs her she needs to back off on extreme training for that day to allow her body to fully recover. She has found that pushing herself when her morning SpO2 number is 96% can be a trap. If she pushes herself to achieve the same sort of time/distance that she did the day before, her body will take that much longer to recover – especially at her age – essentially digging herself in a hole. So she's using SpO2 to inform her how hard to train that day.
On time trial or actual race days, she uses SpO2 and pulse rate as a way to ensure she's optimally oxygenated before a race. She had found that nervous breathing – the type of short, shallow, tense, almost hyperventilating breathing one can experience prior to a stressful event – left her prematurely gassed and not fully mentally prepared to compete at an optimum level. She believes using conscious breathing techniques to pull air deep into her lungs while keeping her heart rate low prior to a race gives her more endurance. She uses iSpO2/MightySat to validate her O2 and pulse rate.
